In your mind

A person close to you
Who you never wanted
To feel the way they do
About what you’ve said or done
Sorry is not enough
When you are speechless
A rare occasion on
Which you know
You shouldn’t have

Sorry is never needed
In some cases
Like when you are sympathized for
By your true friends
People who understand you
And will never let you down
Like when
You are told you are loved
Despite your battle scars
Despite your problematic needs
Sorry is never needed
When you are offered protection
When you are offered compassion
When you are offered mental stability
Sorry is unheard of
As you are given a second chance
As you are presented a new home
As you are swept into a new family
