Lonely eyes

Sweepacrossmyface


Pain


overwhelming

Chocolate kisses touch the light

disarray of vision

solitude of soul


trying to reach out



but shying away

wandering


inside
speckles of loneliness danc3e through you think lashes

shimmering tears well at the crease



hidden



secret

whites disrupted with the illness


so twisted


scanningtheroom


lookingforthreats

eyes land on me


no


recognition



alone

The author's comments:
The inspiration behind this piece is something very personal to me. I had seen someone I hadn't seen in a while and I noticed something about them. their eyes. They were different, it was hard to pinpoint, but there was this new sense of desperation I had never seen before. I just couldn't shake the despair and loneliness I had felt. Eventually it formed into this.
