The Symbolic Rose
Your like a sweet smelling rose
I can press you up against my nose
Sometimes you ponder my thoughts
Filling my mind with different emotions
Lots and lots
On the next day
I look to find you in the sun filled rays
Only to find you've began to rot
No longer that sweet smelling rose that I bought
It gets worse and worse
As we begin to curse
Those days of love and joy
Become days of sadness and hurt
Oh how I wish for things to be the same
But that day of hope, it never came
It only got worse as you began to crust
Finally crumbling into a powdery brown dust
As I gazed upon the powder I began to see
I began to see what came of you and me
I gazed and gazed and started to cry
Then one lonely tear drop fell from my eye
Fell straight into the gloomy night sky
When it hit the powder something started to sprout
It was the rose
There was no doubt
On that day my wish came true
That sweet smelling rose
It was you
