I watch horrified
AS the old scar inside of me;
The one I chose to forget long ago,
Reopens.
The pain is so real,
I cry.
Once again,
Silently staring at nothing.

My tears wash away the dust inside.
The memories,
No longer so foggy,
Are thorns on a rose.
So impossibly beautiful,
But with needles constantly
Poking
And
Prodding
So I cry,
Silently staring at nothing

The pain is everlasting;
This scar will never heal.
The thorns will always
Accompany my rose.
I realized this.
So now,
It is impossible
To pretend.
I am okay,
As I sit here
Silently staring at nothing,
And yet,
Somehow,
Everything.

I really like this and I continue to love the metaphor of a thorn to a rose... good stuff.
