Time.
They say time heals all cuts.
Well, I say they're nuts.
Time's a lousy liar
That turns a cut to a scar, burned with fire.
So what comes now?
When all time has done is allow
A quick stab in the back
To blossom into a full blown attack.
For a heart that's been scorned
With time can only be mourned
And the devil with the shiny red horns
Comes to visit but never warns
That the light drizzle of tears will become
A storm to whose thunder you will succumb.
All that time has left me with
Is the realization that love is a myth
And to replace my devilish heart's tricks
A watch in my body that tick, tock, ticks.
Time, release me please.
I'm begging on my knees
To escape from this cramped cage
That only shrinks with age.
I'm ready now to move on
But I've become time's pawn
For I've found that my soul
Long ago lost control.
So here I am, Time
I've come to my last rhyme.
You're making me yours for the taking
And with every tick of the clock my heart is
aching,
shaking,
breaking.
