The Big Board Game
Politics is like a big board game
We the people, are the pieces
And he politicians are the players.
At the end of the day
They have the last say;
Where we will go
What we will do
Who we will be
Whether we win or lose,
They make the moves.
One says, "This should take three years."
Another says four.
A battle of wills,
That we, the innocents, are caught in
Against our own will.
But the players don't care
What happens to us the pieces
And all their wrong moves
Are glossed over,
With sweet honeyed words in the right ears,
And fats wads of money in the right accounts-
Right but wrong.
And when one side wins,
Another must lose
So we, the pieces suffer along.
So whether three years or four,
The issue's core
Is that we obey their call,
Cushion the politricksians' fall.
And we bear the pain
So that they can gain.
Whiles they pretend to be "the peoples' voice."
When really they're just making a lot of noise.
Because they are the players
And we're just the pieces.
So when the game comes to an end
The pieces are packed in a box
And kept under lock,
Until the players feel like playing again.
But at the end of the day,
People always say,
"Don't hate the players,
Just hate the game.-
The big board game of politics."
