To Exist in Silence
Mindless chatter
 Fills the air around us;
 Everyone talking
 In excess.

 Their laughter fills the
 Air, making it stale--
 A mask, a cloak,
 A simple veil.

 But you and I sit
 Side by side,
 And I know there's nothing
 I can hide--

 Even though the silence
 Is there,
 Filling our
 Air while
 We are together.
 Together,
 We exist.
 And words are not
 Needed, because
 We are able to simply
 Live side by side
 And share time with
 Each other.
