Beautiful Night
The sky, like a midnight canvas,
Stretches out far above
With little pins of stars
Decorating the deepness
The canvas curves gently, like a bowl
Along the horizon
And mingles with blackened leaves
Even though I can’t see
The canvas stretches on
Past the sickly, the dying
The lonely, the depressed
The ones in pain underneath the canvas
Whose wings are too weighed down by sadness
To go and collect those star pins
To go and paint on that curving canvas
To go and feel the night in all its beauty.
