The Prayer

Your long brown hair
And warm brown eyes
Invite me in
Only to be trapped
Forever
On the road
To a broken heart

You make me smile
And laugh
And just be
Happy
An emotion
I almost never
Experience

I think about
You
Almost every night
Before I once again
Fail
My eternal mission
To Transform
Into a peaceful
Insomniac

But
While I fail
At transforming myself
You've changed me
Forever

So I go to bed
Once again
And say my
Usual prayer

"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray my man my soul to keep
And if I die before I wake
I give you boy
My soul to take"
