Trust Me
Don’t you trust me?
I thought you knew who I was.
I thought that years
And years
Of showing solid common sense,
Would amount to something.
I though you knew who I was.
I thought that years
And years
Of telling how much it annoys me
When people trash their lives
Would amount to something.
I though you knew who I was.
I thought that when I grew up
And began to see the world
That all those years
And years
Would mean you wouldn’t worry about me.
I though you knew who I wanted to be.
I thought that all those years
And years
Would mean you would trust me.
I want you to trust me.
I want you to let me go with him,
And not worry about me.
And to know that I will always make the choice.
I want you to trust me.
I thought you knew who I was,
And who I wanted to be.
But now I wonder.
Do you?
