New Falling Snow
Thou art quiet, New Falling Snow,
Silently blanketing all objects below.
Falling from heaven, you’re beautiful white.
Giving us joy this Christmas Eve night.
Children by the fire, watching it glow,
Trudging to bed, but going real slow.
Awaiting the gifts St. Nick will bring
Listening to all the silver bells ring.
Thou art quiet, New Falling Snow,
Everyone bundled against the cold.
Clinging to eyelashes and kissing cheeks.
Covering first, the mountain peaks.
Stockings hung above the fire,
Waiting for everyone to retire.
All are dreaming of what awaits,
Christmas joys and Christmas cakes.
Thou art quiet, New Falling Snow,
Giving us peace, watching you go,
Gracefully falling, blanketing the earth,
Switching the scenery to stare at the hearth.
Thou art quiet, New Falling Snow,
Falling asleep, watching the glow.
Going to sleep now, going to bed,
Having to rest this little head.
Go to sleep peacefully,
Dreaming of you drifting gracefully.
Falling from heaven, you’re beautiful white,
Giving us joy this Christmas Eve night.
