What ever happened?
We used to play hide and seek
you and I and we knew each other's favorite spots.
Behind the cream colored couch was mine; be hind the curtains was yours.
And base was always the sink in the bathroom.
We used to blow bubbles on the back porch together our bare ankles being tickled by the grass.
We used to eat gobs of pink fluffy cotton candy getting it more on our faces than in our mouths. I wonder how we ever used to get full?
But then high school came and you changed, along with everyone else.
You wear your hair longer
and you wear different types of clothes.
You're always on your cell
listening to your iPod
and suddenly you don't have time for me anymore.
We don't hang out anymore
and we don't laugh together.
Do you even laugh anymore?
I wouldn't know.
The only time I hear about you is when someone tells me about you,
when someone thinks of something stupid you did.
Like how you got so high one time
you'd started a fight with your mother and almost landed her in the hospital.
And how you'd disrespect your body and do whatever with anybody and all I could think was what happened to the cousin i USED to know.
Whatever happened? I don't know but maybe one day you'll be able to tell me.
