She had Loved Him
She had loved him,
 or so he thought.
 How could she
 Run off
 Without even a
 Goodbye?
 He had run 5 miles
To that yellow house to see her.
 Skipped football games
 To hold her hand.
 Trashed his friends
 To stick up for her.
 And now she left him
 With nothing.
 Rejection and betrayal
Slashed through him like a knife.
 He sat on the ground,
 Head in his hands,
 And cried.

 He fell apart
  but not before running home
  to make sure
no one could see him cry.
  Because he was tough.
 And that’s
 what it took.
