My Eagle
My Eagle
I remember the time you laughed with me
We talked all night, staring at the stars
I knew at that moment we were meant to be
Holding hands together between parked cars
I remember the time you held me close
Out on my porch swing, swinging all night
We whispered softly, as all around the night echoes
I looked up and saw your eyes shining bright
I remember the time we ran
We traveled so very far off into the vast distance
I look along the sidewalk and catch a glimpse of your perfect tan
We flew down the street and you were an eagle showing off your wingspan
I remember when we fell apart
The lovely days were gone in seconds, left in the past where they’d stay
I want you to know; forever you will be in my heart
For you have impacted my life in a magical way
