My emotions are numb
With no feelings at all
Not even pain

Pain is all around me
But I can’t feel it
But I see it

I don’t feel love
I don’t feel sad
I don’t feel pain

People messed with my emotions
Until they became numb
Now I am the way I am

I look sad but who knows
I don’t even know
When you find out, you tell me

I look down on myself
Not liking what I see and feel
Because I don’t feel anything

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem on November 21, 2010. I was thinking of November 22, the next day when I needed surgery for my tonsils. I was scared for a while but my pain went numb when people told me they hope I would die. I didn’t feel hurt or sad. I didn’t know what to feel, so I felt nothing. I hope you enjoy this poem.
