Deep Inside My Mind
Deep inside me swims a place
Known not to you-
Yet it bears your name
It hangs there
Supported by nothing but the difference between truth and not
Built from the history you've given us
People exist there
Individuals cowed by the dangerous caresses of my soul
They have your face
Locked tight are words
The ones that perched anxiously at the edge of your tongue
Where they should have stayed
We are there
We are too much for the space, we spill out
Love stains my eyelids
It's a terrifying place
Unreal, impossible, so close to what you did
Not close enough
Comets strike
Flames rain down magma feasts I hope I doubt that
Someday the embers may cool
