An Ode to Fruit
Ah, fruit
my taste buds go wild when your sweet taste is upon my tongue
and when your delectable juice runs down my throat
I feel happy when we are together
like we’re old friends
I enjoy your company and you enjoy mine
as we lay under the clouds a cool breeze blows by,
everything feels just right
That is until my stomach starts to rumble
you begin to look nervous and say you have no go
but, I quickly persuade you to stay
I don’t want you to leave
it’s just that you look so sweet, so… tasty
I can’t help myself
and in the blink of an eye you are gone
I start to weep
for not only are you gone but,
I am still hungry
