love grows like a tree
love grows like a tree
the roots, the trunk, the buds, the leaves
it’s then that the flowers begin to bloom
it’s then that you’re a part of me
seasons tend to change
from summer comes fall comes winter
over time, the leaves corrugate and break
shivering bare branches persist
summer is a solace, warmth as sweet as a cherry
revival is the taste
live through the damage
the embrace, the kiss, the passion
it’s then the flowers begin to bloom
it’s at this moment you realize
how would you learn to love without the experience of a broken heart
