no longer
the color of dirt.
it’s now
the color of
his sparkling eyes.
eyes that look
right into mine.
blue’s
no longer
the color of tears.
it’s now
the color of
the coat we shared.
the coat that mingled
his scent with mine.
purple’s
no longer
the color of darkness.
it’s now
the color of
gorgeous twilight.
surrounded by the world,
but all alone.
green’s
no longer
the color of grass.
it’s now
the color of
the leaves.
the leaves of the tree
we sat in together.
