Some days it seems as though
everyone is against me.

They try to define my personality,
and tell me how I should act.
"Take this online quiz,
and see what it says about you."

They talk about me in school,
not realizing I'm right there.
Words hurt, you know.

They bring my hopes up,
only to shove them
back down.
I don't like
getting my hopes up any more.

They tell me what to believe,
and try to define my God.
The last time I checked,
my God was undefinable.

They even go so far
as to try and control
my life.
But this is my life,
not theirs.
And I'm going to live it
my way.
