Don't Wait
She picks up the bottle
To end her life
Swallowing the pills
She picks up the knife.
“I’ll die tonight
No one with care.
Being made fun of
Is too much to bear.”
As she closes her eyes
She took her last breath
Her pain was gone
She had nothing left
But who would have known
She wanted to die
She smiled and laughed
When she wanted to cry
No one bothered
To look in her eyes
Ask how she was
And tell her not to lie
You could have saved her
If you didn’t wait
If you reached out your hand
And said, “it’ll be alright.”
Don’t wait next time
To say hello
Go reach out
Hope will show
Don’t wait to talk
Let love show
Save a life
Bring someone up from down low.
