Yesterday
I went back
You weren't there
But it was easy to believe you were

Saw us
Walking together
And sitting together
And laughing and talking.
You
Wanted me to say
That I wanted you
And that I loved you
I didn't.
Not directly.
I told you to do what made you happy.
I wish you knew that I meant
“Choose me.”
