Winter Hymn
Winter blows a cold, white sheet
Of icicles and snow, replete
With frost and brisk uncertainty
Like the bare branch of a sleeping tree
Colored lights dress Christmas trees
Carols ring out elegantly
And festive candles softly glow
Behind a faithful’s cold window
But all festivities have their day
The colorful lights are shut away
And Earth remains in winter still
Writing tales of ice with a snowy quill
January sun peeks through chilly skies
Clouds filter a dull glow that meets your eyes
And February wind tickles cold wind chimes
Playing winter’s frosty lullaby.
