Lost In Shadows
Slowly being consumed
By a darkness unforeseen
It wanders inside
Through unlocked doors
With rotting boards
My defenses knocked aside
Left vulnerable and unguarded
Unwilling to leave my personal hell
Basking in suffering
Cringing from sunlight
The brightness of the outside world
With its happiness and love
Torturous to merely glance
Through the rusted bars
Of the windows of my lowly cell
With walls the shades of night
When it fades into the day
Giving form to my feelings,
Being eagerly consumed by darkness
Trapped within its smoky grasp
Tempted by a razors shine
An allure to that forbidden place
That the darkness leaves untouched
