The Animal Rests, a Beast is Born
In time he rested,
never a quiet thought,
never an empty void.
When light faded,
when dark retreated,
When worship hated,
When disgust adored;
Will he ever see tunnel again?
Of the faint
and of the obscure
Yet of the strong
and of the pure.
He sees again
of the soul intertwined with the sick
Determination corrupted
He sees again
of the martyr broken
in the land of the blissful sufferer.
Was truth invincible?
The man lay down and slept long,
Embracing, nagging.
