Vélodrome ?Hiver
There is a city
Across the water
Buried in secrets
Washed in tears
There is a city
Across the water
With forgotten history
And bloodied soil
There is a city
Across the water
With dying children
And parents who are no longer
Living
There is a city
Across the water
With walls and ramparts
Surrounding the past
There is a city
Across the water
Filled with sorrows
And hope
There is a city
Across the water
That fell to a power
That was out to destroy
a human race
There is a city
Across the water
With thousands dead
And thousands more
with scars
From the terrible
And forgotten times
Of the 1942
Vélodrome ?Hiver
There is a city across the water
With history
That we must remember
And honor
There is a city across the water
Filled
With tears of sorrow
And tears
Of remembrance
There is a city across the water
That lives again.
