The Color Red
Red is for stubbornness, the flushed cheeks, the teary eyes:
The drops of blood, that red of poison;
Ruby's, the red of man's sinful touch;
The red of cherry's and apples, the red stain it imprints among tongues;
The red wrath of a spur of the moment decision;
The beauty of red, the red of fall leaves;
The double red, a stab in the back;
The red of roses, remembrance of love and death;
The red of regrets;
Red of chopped wood, red of a horses mane
The red of Circuses, The red of clowns masking their true identities
The red of ants, their bite worse than a pinch
Flowing red, a reflection of the sun
The red of bricks, the dead end, which is where our story ends.
