Help Me Feel a Tragedy
I think it takes tragedy to truly feel alive
To taste something so bitter
To truly feel the high
To dip my feet in sorrow
and drown in my despair
to appreciate the loveliness
of flowers in my hair
I want to feel so ruined
That when I come awake
I’ll feel like a champion
Just for my own sake
For if I go to college
And surely yes I will
It will feel rather nonchalant
For I won’t foot the bill
I’ve never overcame anything
My life, I feel so numb
For when you’ve fought for nothing
It is nothing that will come
