For Jon. Do you see me?
I sit in class.
He’s there too.
We do share words.
He has friends,
in that class.
I do not.
I want to talk to him,
but the voices of my friends,
come into my head.
“He’s ugly!
He looks weird!”
Is what they say.
After hearing them,
I turn back to my work.
Everyday is a battle,
between me and the voices.
I want to talk to him
get to know him,
yet they want me to
pick someone who looks better,
acts different.
Then the way he acts.
Even though they have never meet him.
May be someday I will win
the battle and I will talk to him
