I thought you were my friend
So I gave you the sun.
You took the flames
And burned my soul.

I thought you were my friend
So I gave you the ocean.
You took the salt
And sprinkled it in my wounds.

I thought you were my friend
So I gave you the wind.
You took the frigid gales
And extinguished my spirit.

I thought you were my friend
So I gave you my broken heart.
You took the two halves
And broke it once more.

Beautiful, I totally know how you feel! My friends did the same thing to me and I wrote a poem out of it too! Would you mind checking it out? It's called 'Whispers' and I think you'll really be able to relate to it! Thanks! :)

Wow that was such a touching poem!! I cannot just express as to which extent do I admire  this poem because whatever adjectives that I would use would just be a glaring understatement!!!!!!! A question though- "How could you just write a meanigful poem inspite being afflicted with an emotional upheavel???'' Because for me I just need to have a right mood to conjure up a poem.
