Still not a Number
I am still not a number,
Even though society would
Beg to differ- because
Everyone is a number- right?
I am a number because of my GPA,
My SATs, my class rank.
I am a number by how I am viewed,
My pants size, my house number,
The number of Facebook friends I have.
I am not a number-
I want to rebel against this system!
I am no revolutionary, no Rousseau,
No Bronte, no Thomas Paine-
I am a bunch of numbers-
None make me different.
But college rankings are numbers too.
So why do I let them bother me?
Because I am a number- I am
Still a number- I will never not
Be a number.
I am still not a number.
