"There is so much scope for the imagination."~Anne Shirley from "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery

When Winter slips sullenly away
And mutters her last biting remark
When the Sun comes back
Valiantly shining like a promise waiting to be kept

When trees lift up their arms
Like trusting children wanting to be held
And accept the warm embrace
Its gentle rays have to give

When the last dry, crisp leaves are swept away
That were left behind by Autumn's ignorant tempers
When the river and brooks laugh and
Turn around bends to find new places

My soul will thaw with the scent of
The good memories
And keep the dark ones with Winter
It will calmly keep hidden

Until it wants to make an appearance
It will take time to heal
Until a clear day dawns
And only white clouds drift by

When the Sun comes back
When I am no longer afraid
Of its honest light
I will carry my soul to the place

Where Quiet and Understanding are
And leave this heavy burden there
