Ignorance Is Bliss
People are bewildered,
They ask, they wonder;
They don't comprehend.
I explain,
It’s better to ignore these things
Don't listen; don't fight back
I say,
People talk,
they gossip
they say things that were meant to...
hurt
So what?
Let them.
But they don't listen.
Why? They ask me.
It's not worth it: another attempt.
You let people take advantage,
walk all over you, they respond.
Because, I reply,
When I'm gone,
they realize how good I was
how no one else will be
as patient
and understanding
as I was.
And now that I'm finally gone,
your missing me
and begging me to come back.
But I won't. I just can't.
