The Shattering Truth
The light of the truth heals
But yet it pains my eyes
 For as the burning rays
 Destroy my perceived ideas
 I am overwhelmed by reality
 I become conscious and aware
 Of the intentions that were
 Less than honorable
 Shaking my pure foundation
 Of child-like ignorance
 That the world could somehow
 Live up to my expectations
Instead of threatening to crash down
With every false move or mistake
