Broken Porcelain
She swallows every meal down with an enchanting smile and an ounce of glass
She glistens from the inside out, for her stomach is lined with gemstones
She is an original breed because she possesses the power to empty herself
Her wrists, made of the thickest steel, cry out
They sting and burn and tell horror stories from darker times
She silences them with a blade
She reaches a harbor which provides the mechanisms needed to achieve the impossible goal
A blade, two fingers, mascara and a flat iron are all she needs to enchant and perfect
Jealous whispers follow her back as she floats down the hallways
Everyone wants to know her secret
If only they knew the truth
Her heart slows inside her chest and everyday she can feel the air escaping
Her pupils dilate as thoughts blur inside her skull and nerves pound
Her fear of death, of not knowing what will become of her, is the only thing
that stops her from instilling upon herself a terrible fate
Not one person knows of the demons that follow her back
Her skin absorbs lotion, oil and bronzer in just the right way
Brightly showcasing her delicate ribcage and jagged hipbones
Her eyes wear a blank blue mask
She glistens.

Boy, when you're dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody. ~J.D. Salinger,The Catcher in the Rye,
