Breathtaking Mere
Smooth azul mirror
 Serene, almost gay
 This serenity shall be destroyed
When she ends her night and day.
 Vessel small yet steady
 Pushed from mire shore
 Breaks the silent waters
 To sever ties with lore.
 Sure fingers shape her marker
 Of round and heavy stone.
O’er dark head slides her anchor
 Forever to rest with bone.
With last glance at the prison
 The tortured sinks to grave
 Despairing mind wiped blissfully blank
Last breath relinquished in a wave.
