I have eight minutes.
You, my friend, you
Are my sole desire,
My only strong feeling
That I feel now
Since your eyes glowed.

I have seven minutes.
You, my friend, you
Are the one I love.
You are my favorite thing
To look forward to
During these endless,
Finite days.

I have six minutes.
You, my friend, you
Are you right?
Could you be my correct choice?
I never know.

I have five minutes.
You, my friend, you.
I often wonder if
You see me when I smile at you.
Do you notice when
I slow to match your pace?

I have four minutes.
You, my friend, you
Are the one.
I cherish every moment
Together with you.

I have three minutes.
You, my friend, you.
Have you loved me before
As I have you?
I often wonder.

I have two minutes.
You, my friend, you
Can't be the one for me.
But why?
No.
My love, you are so wonderful,
So charming,
So handsome in your ways.
So perfect, but yet
I am wanting to leave.
I do not want to leave.

I have one minute.
You, my friend, you.
You are mine.
But....
Why you?

The author's comments:
I have a person that I love. I think all of us do, actually. I really enjoy that about people. No matter how bitter we seem we might have a love of something, anything. Something we cherish.I hope to myself that people enjoy this. Also, I added that uncertainty bit in at the end for a reason. So often, we second guess ourselves and our decisions, even if we're sure it's right or wrong. Face it, we're dreamers. There's always going to be somebody better than us, whose abilities or things we will covet, and somebody worse than us, who will covet our abilities or things, at the same time. Dreaming, coveting...what's the real difference? We are all coveting dreamers. But coveting dreamers are such kind things, aren't they? And also sad. We, the coveting dreamers, are such bittersweet things.

Thank you so much! I haven't gotten much feedback on any of my work except from friends, so this really means a lot.

Very interestingly formatted. I love some of the repitition, and the countdown you put throughout. Very well done :)
