Trapped in these sheets, the memory of you
Still lingers, like your scent on my clothes.
Desperate for the things I’ve lost,
I reach farther for you, praying to God-
That you’ll be here, in this bed, with me tonight.
But I know that as the sun breaks the clouds,
And my eyes open,
You’ll be falling asleep in your own bed, under cold sheets, alone
And I’ll still be waiting for you to change your mind.
