"Her Painted Smile" June 16, 2011
Smearing her cheeks with powder
She tries to hide the tears
The make-up seems to never be washed away
Something only she can see.
Like a clown, is how she feels
In every single way there is
Covering up what is known to be herself
By lies, and playing a game.
She likes to dress up and make herself different
Different from the demon that lingers within
Wearing jewelry, only to hide the damage
Hiding from everyone, including herself.
She's drowning in a constant darkening abyss
One she had never learned to swim in
Feeling terrified and broken
Though not scared of anyone, but herself
