Favorite Quote:
At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet. -Plato

Sometimes it's hard
to live in a world
where no one can
hear you

You feel alone
even in a crowd
you speak
and hope someone hears

People say:

You're not good enough
not important enough
not bright enough
to have a voice

You feel invisible
no one can see you
no one can hear you
you ask yourself

"Why should they?"

You start to believe them
their insults and lies
you cannot distinguish
what is false and what is true

All you want is
to be heard,
listened to,
know you exist

It seems like
too much
to handle
anymore

You feel like
there's no other choice,
no other option,
there's only one way out

So you take it.

Sometimes it's hard
to live in a world
where you feel you
don't belong

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem because I like understanding how and why people feel the way they do. I was reading a book about a suicidal teen and this poem came out. I hope other teenagers realize that you may think you know someone but you really don't. Everything you say and do affect people; in some cases for the worse.
