The Human Brain
Once I tried to organize
 my thoughts. They tossed themselves
across the pink membranes and wedged
between exploding experiments of nerve cells,
 running, swinging on my veins.
Their laughter echoed like class clowns throwing spitballs
 at Calculus diagrams,
the chalk smoking off pea-green blackboards.

 In the end,
I closed the wooden fire door
 until the multiplication posters leaked
 from sight. Under florescent light
my thoughts push their faces against
the strip of window, their legs
 still stomping.
