Take me home
To where cattails reside
On either side
Of the street.
Up the road you’ll find
A pond and a hammock
Where I wish I could sleep.
Take me to where roads
Cross paths.
Then take the left
And you do the math.
Keep traveling to a
Yield sign.
Take that turn
And let the road unwind.
Down the hill there’s
Another cross roads, you see.
And turn at the house
That once made me so happy.
Past the woman with
The same name as mine.
Keep going for a step
Past the place I almost spent time.
To the right take the trail
That leads to a place where you
Set down your things and bail.
Flee to the water and
Don’t look back.
Swim away from the sand
And you will find
My heart and soul,
Where the world is kind.
