Holy Creatures
she attaches her puffed out bones to the spaces between the screen of my window those little pieces of shrinking air almost as if they are not really there and in my dreams last night the dragonfly released her fiery plight to the sky sinking into the house of the moon blending into water beads settling onto earth this morning how peaceful life can be without human passage to see you holy creatures of the night when in the early hours you appear upon a current of precipitation now she is beating her wings on my back caressing my skin until she fleets back into early dawn and I am told to return to sleep and the captivity of life when I remember her tonight it is not her beauty which is strange but her freedom that I hold and her pain.
