(good night mom who looks at me like i’m a crazy little boy).
my brother gallops up the stairs
on hands and feet
like some bizarre wild animal
with floppy brown hair.
(i want to kiss you) i don’t
want you to kiss me
you’ve given me two hugs
already.
affectionately i say
go before you get too comfortable on my futon.
the animal burrows his head against me
(i am leaving. in my own special way)
tiredly i sigh
stop trying to act sexy
you’re not.
contentedly i think
you’re so strange
warmly i reflect
i love you
you funny animal boy
