You stayed just for tea,
And then.....
You left me

You left,
Like a thief in the night,
You stole my heart...
An act of theft...
You took the breath...

The breath of my dying lips...
The beat of my broken heart...
The lines of my very own skin...
You took everything, everything,
From within...

I was inspired by a difficult time in my life. There was no dramatic pause, time did not stand still; Though it seemed to drag on and on as if I would be stuck in the shadow of the person who abandoned me. I know, it's short and they are only words, but there is so much pain and experience behind those words.
