Violent Delights
The desires in our mind will flourish and grow,
But with the sweetest of sorrows
that linger you know;
Merely bitter rejection
which tickles the ear,
yet pricks the heart,
neither consumes the whole
nor ignores a part.
To love or to lust
with passions shackles held tight
to weak to contend to reason
no desire to fight
when one succumbs to their passions
a growing fire which is never enough
it then, too strongly burns,
and becomes too late to rebuff.
and these wants and aspirations
which infectiously burn
Bind oneself, and never can lovers session adjourn,
and it is through violent delights,
which reason it stole
shall not ignore a part,
rather consume one whole.
