Who I am
I was expecting this
Taunting and teasing
After I came to school like this
High tops
Overalls
Straw in my hair
Smelling like cows
But it’s who I am
I expected the name calling
And spit balling
Flying in my face
And of course
The nasty note crumpled up
And tossed to my desk
But not this flyer
Advertising butchering
The slaughtering of my friends
That I’ve raised since birth.
This may be just one little joke
To her.
But to me,
This is war.

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of Gods great love, we are not consumed. His compassion never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
