Sky Blue Dress
She sits there in her pretty little
sky blue dress. Saturday night
seeming like it'll last forever as
the rain falls down around her.
Music blares from the party that
still rages inside. She's been sitting
outside for awhile now. She's been
waiting for someone to notice.
The boy with the gray eyes
walks up beside her, mutters some
simple pleasantry and looks toward
the sky. The girl looks up too.
Every drop falling from the sky
seems to have her name written
on its edge. She still stares above.
He gazes at her face, watching the drops.
He smiles when he sees the light
that shines her eyes, when the drops
glide down her cheek. She looks at
the grey eyed boy and smiles back.
And it feels like Saturday will never end.
