You are Beautiful
You are beautiful.
She looks in the mirror
as tears kiss her face
these lingering words
she longs to erase.
You are beautiful.
She looks up with disdain,
make-up to cover her skin,
to cover her pain.
You are Beautiful.
She feels she's never enough,
but what is enough?
Is it enough to be loved?
Not pretty enough,
nor thin enough, she's never
enough.
You are beautiful.
So wash your make-up
wash your tears.
Recover your innocence
and relieve your fears.
Touch your cheeks, feel your skin.
Look up into your eyes
see the beauty within.
And when the words
start to haunt you,
and your tears become full,
take a deep breath,
you are beautiful.
