The night sky drips black
Starless
Oozing into the pores
the lungs
of the people below
They sip their burgundy wine
Clueless
Filling the hollow holes
of their souls
Blurring the pain
They cross their legs
They purse their lips
They tip their noses back
and laugh
If to laugh at nothing
but their own pain
